Meet Holly Marino
 |
Although Holly was educated at one of the top Business Schools where she holds a double business degree,Holly’s real education is in equine. Holly started out with her own horse as a very young little girl and by the time she was 15 she was competing as a 3rd level dressage rider.
She then ascended to races horses in Lexington, where she started exercising Thoroughbred race horses, and ultimately training them. Holly has ridden Hunt in many locations around the globe, and by 1990, Holly and her mother originated the "EQUICAP" foundation. This foundation was designed to use horses to rehabilitate, heal, motivate, and bring joy to mentally disabled people. This program (originated by Holly) has become known throughout the US and Europe today. |
Today, Holly has rescued horses from the clutches of death, from bad homes, and many horses in need. In all, Holly has rescued hundreds upon hundreds of horses. Holly has paid for, as well as participated in surgeries herself. On many occasions these efforts have actually given the horses a new lease on life. Holly was able to prove that professional race horses could in fact live a very fruitful and happy life after their athletic careers. Holly's love is horses.
She does not discriminate with looks, athletic ability, health or anything at all. She has owned everything from famous race horses to 33 year old draft horses. As a matter of fact, her favorite animal was her 500lb pig named “Porkie” whom she rescued in a fire.
Although “Porkie” recently passed away, I can assure you this pig knows what heaven was when it lived with Holly. Holly also serves as an expert witness.
